Soldier, 9 Abu Sayyaf men killed; 6 gov’t troops, 13 bandits hurt in Sulu clash

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A soldier was killed while six others were wounded in a clash with Abu Sayyaf bandits in Patikul, Sulu on Thursday afternoon.

Major Filemon Tan, spokesperson of Western Mindanao Command, said nine bandits were also killed and 13 others were wounded in the fighting in the village of Kabuntakas.

The bandits, numbering about 130, were believed to be led by senior Abu Sayyaf leader Radulan Sahiron.  SFM
