Not only will Filipinos be able to watch President Rodrigo Duterte through his own weekly television show, they will also hear his voice on the radio and read his words through a government-issued tabloid.
Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar on Thursday told INQUIRER that his group would continue Duterte’s popular local television program in Davao City, “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa.”
“By August this year we should be able to make it nationwide—to make it ‘Mula sa Masa, Para sa Masa,’” he said.
Andanar said it would be in Filipino since it would be aired nationwide. The original talk show, which is a 30-minute interview of Duterte, is taped earlier and aired on Sunday morning.
In tabloid form
“And it’s not just a television program. It’s going to be on radio as well,” he said.
“It should be on radio, on television, online, on print, social media,” the secretary said. “So the newest edition here is the print.”
Andanar pointed out that former President Joseph Estrada was the last chief executive to have his own paper.
The PCO said the Duterte paper would be a tabloid, to be distributed for free weekly. It will also be called “Mula sa Masa, Para sa Masa.”
