Barangay, youth polls rules bared

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released its guidelines for voter registration in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections set in October.

In Comelec Resolution No. 10148, the Comelec en banc announced that voter registration will be from July 15 to 30, including weekends and holidays.

Registrants must personally file their applications with the Offices of Election Officer of their respective cities or municipalities on those dates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The registration is open to first-time voters—both in regular and SK polls—as well as those who have been deactivated for failing to participate in at least two consecutive elections.

Registrants for barangay elections must be at least 18 years old by the time of the elections. They must be a resident of the Philippines for at least one year.
