LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — A suspected drug pusher died in a shootout with policemen during a buy-bust operation in Legazpi City, on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Supt. Rommel dela Rama, information officer of the Albay provincial police, said Michael Almayda, 26, resisted arrest and engaged policemen in a gunfight following the sting operation at 2:45 p.m. in Barangay Rawis.
Police also arrested Almayda’s companions — Edgardo Almayda, 71; Nino Almayda, 29; and Norby Alzaga, 39 – during the operation.
Lawmen recovered at least 12 plastic sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a .38 cal. gun from the suspects. SFM
