Typhoon “Nepartak” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
In an advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Nepartak, which is locally named “Butchoy,” entered PAR at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Butchoy was plotted at 1,440 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora.
Formerly a tropical cyclone, it intensified into a typhoon before entering PAR on Tuesday morning. YG/TVJ/rga
