THE NEWLY-INSTALLED director of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) on Tuesday suggested the relocation of provincial bus terminals along Edsa to alleviate traffic woes.
According to a Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Senior Superintendent Antonio Gardiola Jr. said the removal of “big provincial buses” would help improve the traffic situation in one of Metro Manila’s most congested highways.
Gardiola proposed that bus terminals be moved to the outskirts of Metro Manila.
He also said taxi drivers who wait outside Edsa bus terminals contribute to the clogging of the highway and that moving the bus terminals would also solve this problem.
Gardiola clarified that his statements are only suggestions and the decision is up to officials in higher government agencies. Jaehwa Bernardo, INQUIRER.net/KS/rga
