There will be light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, the regions of Mimaropa, Bicol, Caraga and the province of Quezon on Monday, the state weather bureau said.

Metro Manila and the rest of country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is tracking a low pressure area 5 kilometers east of Sorsogon City embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Southern Luzon Visayas.

It is also tracking Tropical Storm Nepartak, located 1,995 kilometers east of Visayas. It packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 80 kph, moving northwest at 7 kph.

Nepartak is forecast to enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday and will be locally named Butchoy.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the west to southwest over Mindanao, Pagasa said.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate./rga
