A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted near Mindanao on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 p.m, advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said an LPA was estimated at 2,160 kilometers east of Mindanao.

A report from Panahon TV, quoting weather forecaster Shelly Ignacio, said the LPA was expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Monday or Tuesday.
