BINMALEY, Pangasinan — Defeated presidential candidate Jejomar Binay inducted into office the mayor and vice mayor of this fishing town on Thursday (June 30), his last official act as vice president.

Binay arrived at 11:30 a.m. and inducted into office Mayor Simplicio Rosario and Vice Mayor Edgar Mamenta, both candidates of the United Nationalist Alliance, which Binay heads.

Binay was supposed to take a helicopter from Manila to Binmaley but rain prevented him from flying so he travelled by land instead.

While he lost by 2,000 votes to Senator Grace Poe in the town, Binay said he proceeded to Binmaley because the new officials were friends.  SFM
