Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday attended the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
Marcos was seen inside the Rizal Hall of Malacañang in a barong. He was seated a few seats away from Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, his rival in the last vice presidential race. Cayetano was Duterte’s runningmate.
Reelected Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos was also present.
Duterte, who described Marcos as a friend, said he would not give Vice President Leni Robredo a Cabinet post because he did not want to hurt the outgoing senator.
The incoming President has also said that he will allow the burial of late president Ferdinand Marcos at the “Libingan ng Mga Bayani” (Heroes Cemetery)./rga
