Former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will take his oath as the 16th President of the Philippines today, June 30, in Malacañang.
He will first meet with outgoing President Benigno Aquino III, who will be given departure honors, before attending his pre-oath taking ceremony.
Supreme Court Associate Justice Bienvenido Reyes will administer Duterte’s oath of office. This will be followed by the mass oath taking of his Cabinet members.
Duterte is expected to give a five-minute speech in a mix of English and Bisaya.
After his inauguration, Duterte will lead the first meeting of his Cabinet.
