(Updated) Outgoing Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is attending the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, June 30.

Christopher “Bong” Go confirmed to INQUIRER.net that Marcos will witness the inauguration at the Rizal Hall in Malacañang.

Go said Marcos’ sister, reelected Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, was also invited to the inauguration.

Jun Arvin Gudoy, head of the Communications and Media Office of the Ilocos Norte provincial government, confirmed that the governor will be attending the event.

“Yes. She was invited and she will attend,” Gudoy told INQUIRER.net in a text message.

The camp of Duterte said 627 individuals were on the guest list, which includes ambassadors, incoming Cabinet members and the chief executive’s family members.

Not yet clear if included on that list is Vice President-elect Leni Robredo.

Duterte has earlier described the outgoing Senator as his friend—and not wanting to hurt him has compelled him not to give Robredo, who defeated Marcos in the May 9 polls, a post in his Cabinet.

Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said that as of Wednesday, the incoming vice president has not received any invitation from Duterte’s camp.
