Malacañang on Wednesday clarified that June 30, which marks the first day of Rodrigo Duterte as 16th President of the Philippines, is not considered a holiday.
“June 30, 2016 is a regular working day,” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. told media, citing a message from Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa.
Duterte will be sworn in at the Malacañang Palace on Thursday morning. He will replace President Benigno Aquino III.
