Ex-cop nabbed in Dagupan for using shabu
DAGUPAN CITY – A dismissed policeman was arrested on Monday afternoon while sniffing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a shack in a coastal village here.
Wilson Ballesteros, 35, was dismissed for being absent without leave while assigned at the Calasiao Police Station in Calasiao town, police said.
Ballesteros used to work at the Dagupan City Police Station until 2015, and had been included in the city’s list of drug personalities.
“There were talks that he was selling and using shabu. But we could not pin him down (for the crime),” said Supt. Christopher Abrahano, city police chief.
At 5 p.m. Monday, police swooped down on a shack in Barangay Pantal here after receiving a report from an informant that Ballesteros was there.
Abrahano said Ballesteros was sniffing shabu when policemen arrested him. Also seized from him was a sachet of shabu.
