A thunderstorm hit parts of Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.
In an advisory at 4:10 p.m., Pagasa said that a thunderstorm is affecting Bagac and Morong towns in Bataan and some parts of Zambales which may persist within two hours.
Light to moderate rains are affecting the cities of Pasig and Marikina in the National Capital Region, and Norzagaray and Doña Remedios in Bulacan.
Moderate to heavy rains, which may persist for one to three hours, are affecting Quezon, Laguna and Rizal provinces.
Moderate rains are expected over Nueva Ecija, Batangas and the remaining parts of Metro Manila within the next three hours.
A low pressure area off Samar became a tropical depression on Sunday morning. It was named “Ambo.”

It packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and is moving in the west northwest direction at 19 kph.
Pagasa said that “Ambo” may weaken when it makes its landfall in Aurora province on Monday. AJH/JE/rga
