Village chief killed by gunman in Tuguegarao
TUGUEGARAO CITY—The village chief of Balzain East here was shot dead by a gunman as he drove home after taking his daughter to school on June 24, police said.
Mackenrick Pagulayan died on the spot, said Supt. Jessie Tamayao, Tuguegarao City police chief.
The gunman was in a black car which rear ended the vehicle of Pagulayan, forcing it to crash into a concrete barrier.
He alighted from the car and repeatedly shot Pagulayan, whose wife Jamilla Kaye and relative, Daryll Tumaneng, were also in the vehicle and were hurt.
The gunman left a piece of paper on Pagulayan’s body with the phrase, “Pusher ako, huwag tularan (I am a pusher, do not follow in my footsteps.)”
Police said they found a sachet filled with suspected “shabu” inside Pagulayan’s vehicle.

Jamilla Kaye and Tumaneng were treated at a local hospital.
