Drug pusher, 6 users surrender to Iloilo police

ILOILO CITY–A self-confessed drug pusher and six users surrendered to the police in Anilao town, Iloilo province on Friday, amid a series of apparent summary executions that victimized at least four men with links to illegal drugs in different parts of the province.

Chief Insp. Rogelio Ortega, police chief of Anilao, said Nelson Magbanua 49, of Barangay Mustro in Anilao decided to turn himself in due to the intensified police operations against illegal drugs.

He said Magbanua and the six others were accompanied by Mustro village officials when they surrendered past 11 a.m. on June 24.

The six others were identified as Rene Boy Parcon, 29; Denis Parcon, 27; Adrian Parcon, 20; Jeffrey Parcon, 33; and Oscar Labiang, all residents of Mustro and a 17-year-old teenager from Barangay Balunos.

Actually they are not in our target list. But it’s good that they surrendered to us,” Ortigas said.

The surrender came days after at least two men who were involved in illegal drugs were found dead.

Last Thursday Romel Albor was believed to be high on drugs when he took hostage four persons inside the police station in Estancia town, Iloilo.

Romy Albor also forced one of the hostages to post a message on Facebook for incoming President Rodrigo Duterte to stop the killing of  suspected drug personalities.

He was later shot dead by policemen after he fired at him and wounded a policeman. CDG
