Drilon, Enrile, Tañada, others attend necro service for Maceda

Former and incumbent senators attended on Thursday the necrological service at the Senate for former Senate President Ernesto Maceda, who passed away last Monday.

Among those who came were Senate President Franklin Drilon, Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Serge Osmeña and Gringo Honasan, former senators Rene Saguisag, Loi Ejercito, Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr., Wigberto Tañada, Victor Ziga and Nikki Coseteng, among others.

Maceda’s remains arrived at 4 p.m. Among those who escorted his remains and his family to the session hall of the chamber were Drilon, Enrile, Osmeña, Honasan, and Tañada, among others.

Saguisag was first to deliver a eulogy for Maceda.

Maceda, 81, died Monday night following a gall bladder surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City. TVJ/rga
