It’s final. Leni Robredo will take her oath as the second highest official of the county at her new office at the Quezon City Reception House on June 30.
Boyet Dy, the head of Robredo’s transition team, said on Thursday in a press briefing in Quezon City that Vice President-elect Robredo’s inauguration will take place at the QC Reception House, formerly the controversial “Boracay Mansion” located in an upscale neighborhood in New Manila. It will start at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m.
Because of the venue’s limited space, only 300 guests will be invited.

Dy assured that all sectors of society will be represented but most of them will come from the “laylayan (marginalized).”
He said the ceremony will be “simple and modest.” Other details, like the food that will be served and the gown Robredo will wear, are still being discussed.
After the inauguration, Robredo will proceed to the QC Memorial Circle to attend a gathering of her supporters.
The inauguration will start with a flag-raising ceremony. The Payatas Children’s Choir will sing the national anthem.
Robredo will be sworn in by the barangay (village) captains from Camarines Sur and Quezon City.

Administering the oath taking are Rolando Coner, captain of Barangay Punta Tarawal, the smallest, farthest and poorest town of Camarines Sur’s third district, and Capt. Regina Celeste San Miguel, captain of Barangay Mariana, Quezon City.
“Sa June 30, bagamat simple lang ang panunumpa ng ating bagong Pangalawang Pangulo, magandang pagkakataon ito para magkaisa ang lahat na ipagdiwang ang tagumpay ng ating demokrasya, at ang simula ng isang bago at makulay na kabanata ng ating kasaysayan,” Dy said.

Incoming Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, meanwhile, will hold his inauguration at Malacañang at noon of June 30. IDL/rga
