Subic cops nab 4 ‘shabu dealers’

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Police arrested four suspected drug dealers inside this free port last Sunday (June 19) and seized a bag containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth about P300,000, an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon said on Tuesday.

Lucky Mangohig, Jomel Mangohig, Ronnel Salvador and Ariane Aguilar, all residents of Olongapo City, were arrested when anti-narcotics agents intercepted the suspects’ unlicensed black Ford Escape, said Emerson Margate, PDEA Central Luzon director.

He said authorities believed the suspects were delivering illegal drugs to this free port and nearby Olongapo City.

Magrate said PDEA agents posed as buyers and negotiated the purchase of 100 grams of shabu worth P180,000.

The suspects were arrested while in the act of handing over a plastic bag allegedly containing shabu to a PDEA agent on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect had a transparent ice bag containing suspected shabu with a street value of P300,000.
