CEBU CITY—One of top 10 drug personalities in Bohol was killed by one of the two men on board a motorcycle about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the corner of J. Clarin and M. Torralba Streets in Tagbilaran City.
Reynaldo Guiritan alias Canor, 38, from Poblacion Norte, Carmen town, was believed to be delivering illegal drugs when he was killed, said Supt. George Vale, Tagbilaran police chief.
He said Guiritan was allegedly operating an illegal drug trade in Carmen and other interior towns in the province.
Witnesses said the victim, who was on board a motorcycle, stopped by J. Clarin and M. Torralba Streets at about 2:30 p.m.
Two men, who were in a separate motorcycle, approached the victim.
The three had a casual talk when one of the two men shot the victim, said Vale.
Guiritan was able to run but the perpetrators chased him and finished him off, the police chief said.
He was brought to Celestino Gallares Hospital where he died.
Vale said the doctors and nurses recovered more than P43,800 in cash inside a pouch in one of his pockets. Two big packs of “shabu” were also found in his pocket.
At the crime scene, authorities recovered another big pack of shabu that fell from his pocket while he was about to be brought to the hospital.
Seven empty shells of a 9-mm and .45-cal. pistols were recovered from the crime scene.
