KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato — At least three low-lying villages of Pikit town in North Cotabato have been submerged in flood waters following days of torrential rains, the town’s disaster management official said.

Tahira Kalantongan said that as of Tuesday, the water level in barangays (villages) Panicupan, Dalingawen and Gocotan remained waist-deep and had forced residents to flee.

Kalantongan did not specify the number of affected villagers but said hundreds of families from the three villages had been staying in evacuation centers.  SFM/rga
