7 kidnap, rob suspects killed in hot pursuit in Pampanga towns

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Seven alleged members of a robbery and kidnapping syndicate were killed on Monday (June 20) in a running gun battle with policemen at the boundaries of Pampanga’s Magalang town and Angeles City.

The identities of the seven suspects have not been determined at press time but they were believed to be part of the Jimboy Santos Group that originated in Magalang, said Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino, Central Luzon police director.

They fired upon Central Luzon members of the Highway Patrol Group and the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group when the suspects’ vehicle, a Mitsubishi Montero (with license plate numbers PQC877), was flagged down in Angeles City’s Pulong Cacutud village.

Two suspects were killed at Pulong Cacutud. The other five suspects fled but were cornered at the Mexico, Pampanga section of the Pandacaqui resettlement site where they were killed in the firefight.
