MANILA — The man who climbed up the roof of a public school in Parañaque and stayed there for hours on Thursday, has been convinced by local cops to come down.

Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade, the city’s chief of police, said the man was rescued by authorities from the top of the Baclaran National High School Gym at 10:25 p.m.

As of this posting, authorities had yet to identify him, although a dzBB report said he was called “Jun.”

An initial report to Andrade said the man, who climbed up the school around 12 noon (not 10 a.m. as earlier reported), was “attempting to commit suicide.”

Asked why he attempted to commit suicide, Andrade said: “He has mental problems (May diperensiya).”  SFM
