CEBU CITY—Vice President-elect Leni Robredo slipped out of Manila for a much-needed family break with her daughters following the bruising elections, a source told the Inquirer.
On Monday, she flew to Bohol with her daughters Aika, Tricia and Jillian and several relatives for a four-day vacation, said a source, who declined to be named since he was not authorized to talk.
“It’s really a ‘me’ time with her family,” the source said. He declined to divulge where Robredo was staying, saying even local police and officials were not even told of the vacation.
“She hardly went home (during the campaign period)…It’s their sort of family reunion,” the source said.
The family crossed over to Cebu Island where they enjoyed whale shark watching in the town of Oslob Tuesday, before heading to Bohol’s Balicasag Island, a known diving spot, the source said.
PO3 Albert Almario of the Oslob tourist police confirmed Robredo’s group was monitored to have arrived in Oslob’s Tan-awan village, and boarded a paddle boat to watch the gentle creatures being fed.
He said the group then proceeded to Tumalog Falls, another tourist attraction in Oslob, before boarding a motorized boat that took them back to a resort in Panglao Island, Bohol and then later to Balicasag.
