Nearly 1,300 sheep in the Spanish city of Huesca were found to have “gone astray” after their “big boss” fell asleep.
Cops in the city posted a video footage on video-sharing site YouTube of the fluffy creatures running away from their “home” to the streets of Huesca. According to a report by the Telegraph, the shepherd, who was then on a graveyard duty, was supposed to have guided the sheep toward the Pyrenean uplands.
However, the flock was spotted roaming the streets at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A local resident dialed Spain’s 112 emergency number to report the “lost” sheep.
Spanish police woke the dozing shepherd and they successfully led the sheep back to the green pastures.
In Spanish tradition, shepherds lead a symbolic herding route known as a cañana real, which passes through Huesca and other provinces in Northern Spain. Gianna Francesca Catolico
