Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte got a “moderate” 26 percent net trust rating while Vice President-elect Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo obtained a “good” 45 percent, the last pre-election survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Friday showed.

In the survey conducted from May 1 to 3 among 4,500 respondents, 54 percent said they had “much trust” in Duterte while 28 percent said they had “little trust” in the incoming President.

The net trust rating of an individual is computed by subtracting the “little trust” from the “much trust” percentage.

Based on the survey, the net trust rating of Duterte has increased by 10-percentage points from 16 percent last December. The incoming President’s net trust rating has been “moderate” from December 2015 until early April. He obtained a “good” net trust rating in the April 18 t0 20 pre-electoral survey, getting 30 percent.

The net trust rating of SWS ranks scores of 70 as “excellent”; 50 to 69, “very good”; 30 to 49, “good”; 10 to 29, “moderate”; 9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”; and -70 and below “execrable.”

Robredo, meanwhile, got a “good” 45 percent net trust rating, with 61 percent saying they had “much trust” and 17 percent saying they had “little trust” in her.

Robredo began with a moderate 29 percent trust rating in December 2015 and improved to “good” from January to May.

SWS said the survey had a sampling error margin of plus-or-minus one percentage points. It added that the survey was “not commissioned” and were “done on SWS’ own initiative.”
