2 hurt as chopper crashes near Pangasinan home
BINALONAN, Pangasinan—A two-seat helicopter crashed into a vacant lot in a housing subdivision in Binalonan town on Friday morning, hurting two people, police said on Saturday.
The pilot Lovie Ibarra and his passenger, flying master Capt. Dante Delos Rinos, were injured and were treated at a hospital in Urdaneta City.
Police said the Sikorsky helicopter (with tail number RP-C337) was flying to the north around 9 a.m. when its engine failed, propelling it down towards the subdivision in Barangay (village) Canarvacanan.
Witnesses said the helicopter’s rotor blade struck the roof of a house near the area, but no one in the structure was hurt. RAM
