BALANGA CITY, Bataan — A 62-year old woman was killed last week by her granddaughter over an argument about money, a belated report to the police said.
Elena Arangel, 62, a former employee of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, died from 37 stab wounds inflicted by Maryann Adina, 22, following a heated argument at their home in Barangay Cupang on June 2. Police were informed about this case of domestic violence on Sunday (June 5).
“All I asked for was P1,000 but what I got were scathing remarks about my husband who could not find a job,” said Adina, when she spoke to reporters at the Bataan provincial jail.
Adina, who faces a murder charge, has a 9-month old baby girl. SFM
