THE MANILA Police District (MPD) was searching for the source of the illegal drugs seized from a Nigerian national and his wife who were arrested for selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” in Balut, Tondo on Saturday.
MPD director Chief Supt. Rolando Nana identified the couple as Onyinyechekwu John Aneke, 36 and Filipino Lorena Ang Aneke, 33. Both face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. They were arrested after they sold undercover policemen a sachet of drugs hidden inside a brown container.
Nana said they have yet to estimate the amount of drugs seized from the operation pending the result of laboratory tests.
In Quezon City, two unidentified men were found dead, both with a sachet of suspected drugs in their pockets.
The first victim found on Saturday was around 25 to 30 years old, dressed in a gray striped shirt and blue and white shorts. He was gunned down at 12:45 a.m. Saturday on Steve Street in Barangay Commonwealth. Found in his pocket was a sachet of suspected shabu.
Case investigator PO2 Jim Barayuga of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said that before the man was found, a witness was awakened by gunfire.
A few hours later, another man identified only as Jonathan was shot dead on Liwanag Street in Barangay Old Balara. Also found in his pocket was a sachet of suspected shabu. With Jovic Yee, Emichaella Añata and Evelyn Cruz
