A sports utility vehicle left on a road in Manila yielded an estimated 10 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth P50 million when found by authorities Thursday morning.

A Radyo Inquirer report said the shabu was found inside a green Honda CRV with plate number RFC 205 that was abandoned at the Zamora Interlink in Pandacan.

Manila Police District (MPD) Director Chief Supt. Rolando Nana said that it was the officers from the Pandacan police station who first noticed the abandoned SUV. Members of the Explosive and Ordnance Division were called  to investigate whether there was an explosive inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the shabu.

Village police said that they saw two persons leaving the car.

Police said that they will coordinate with the Land Transportation Office to identify the owner of the vehicle. AJH/ With a report from Erwin Aguilon, Radyo Inquirer/CDG/rga
