Bongbong prays for Miriam’s quick recovery
Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has expressed his heartfelt sympathies for Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who is currently at the intensive care unit of Makati Medical Center.
“We join the whole nation in praying for the immediate recovery of Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago,” he said in a statement on Wednesday night.
Santiago and Marcos were running mates and both lost in the May 9 elections.
According to Marcos, Santiago is a “relentless fighter against corruption and incompetence in government all throughout her career.”
“It is our hope that she again wins this fight and be on her way to full recovery,” he said.
Santiago was rushed to the hospital by ambulance on Monday, likely due to the complications of her advanced stage of lung cancer.
