Three persons who claim to have witnessed vote manipulation in the May 9, 2016, polls, have said that about 200,000 votes were shaved from those garnered by Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos while 300,000 votes were added to those of Rep. Leni Robredo.
The supposed witnesses were presented to media by Pastor Boy Saycon, secretary-general of the Council on Philippine Affairs (Copa), in a press conference at the Senate on Monday, May 30, 2016.
Apart from Robredo, administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas and Liberal Party senatorial candidate Franklin Drilon allegedly benefitted from the purported manipulation.

Roxas got 400,000 votes more while Drilon got an unspecified number, the purported witnesses claimed.
In a separate interview over Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Saycon claimed that then-presidential frontrunner Rodrigo Duterte was “robbed” of 200,000 in the same vote-shaving operation.
Saycon and the trio, who appeared with their heads and faces covered, failed to produce any evidence of their claims.
According to the supposed witnesses, the vote manipulation was done in a privately owned building in Quezon province from where the votes were purportedly manipulated. Quezon had one-million votes.
The trio and Saycon echoed claims of cheating by the camp of Marcos, who lost to Robredo by 263,473 votes.
The Commission on Elections rejected claims of vote-manipulation saying Marcos and those claiming cheating have never presented any shred of proof to support their allegations.
Robredo’s lawyer, Romulo Macalintal, challenged Marcos and the supposed cheating witnesses to produce at least one certificate of canvass to show any hint of shaving or padding, something they have not done. MA/cbb
