DAVAO CITY, Philippines—The incoming Philippine National Police Director, Chief Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa, on Tuesday vowed to implement Oplan Tokhang (Toktok-Hangyo or knock and plead) on the national scale as soon as he assumes his post under the new administration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.

Oplan-Tokhang is an anti-illegal drugs campaign here where the police literally knock on the doors of suspected drug users and ask them to stop their illegal trade.

Duterte, during his campaign, vowed to stop the illegal drugs trade.

Dela Rosa arrived at the Department of Public Works and Highways regional office here for the meeting of officials  earlier named by Duterte to be part of his cabinet. TVJ/rga
