Zamboanga airport toilets an eyesore
If you thought the Ninoy Aquino International Airport was bad, there’s the Zamboanga International Airport (ZAM) where the toilets have been under renovation for four years with their completion still not in sight.
The unfinished toilet project was initiated by then Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas under the “Kayo ang Boss Ko” (KBK)
program.
KBK entailed the construction and rehabilitation of some 1,000 public toilets in all seaports, airports and train depots nationwide.
With some 900,000 travelers passing through ZAM annually—it being Mindanao’s third-busiest airport
—the meters of plywood shielding the toilet construction and rehabilitation from view in the departure area have caused great inconvenience to passengers since 2012.
