At least 2 hurt as tower crane collapses in Makati

(Updated) A construction crane collapsed in Makati City on Thursday morning, hurting at least two people, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM reported.
The crane was being used in the construction of a building on dela Costa street in Barangay (village) Bel Air.
It hit an electric pole, which subsequently fell on a taxi and another vehicle.
Injured in the incident were taxi driver Ramon Romeroja and Romeo Lopez, who was just passing by the area when the crane collapsed. They were immediately brought to the hospital.
In a statement, A.M. Oreta construction company apologized for the incident and vowed to shoulder the medical expenses of the two casualties.
It also said it is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crane’s collapse. IDL/rga
