Today, May 26, is the 117th birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Juan Nakpil. Also a teacher and civic leader, Nakpil was a pioneer and innovator in Philippine architecture. One of his major works was the rebuilding of the Quiapo Church in Manila in 1930. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
