COME-BACKING senator Richard Gordon has just won another election—for a fresh two-year term as Philippine Red Cross (PRC) chair.

Gordon was reelected to a seventh term at the helm of the PRC during a board meeting on Friday. Fellow come-backing senator Juan Miguel Zubiri was reelected PRC vice chair.

Gordon welcomed his reelection to the post, which he first assumed in 2004.

“We are humbled by your continued trust and confidence. Rest assured we are committed to carry out in the next five years the strategic plans recently formulated to ensure the expansion and improvement of the PRC’s services and become the foremost humanitarian organization in the country; or make sure to set the ball rolling for the plans’ implementation,” Gordon said in a statement.

Aside from Gordon and Zubiri, reelected to the PRC board of governors were Corazon Alma de Leon, secretary; James Dy, treasurer; lawyer Lorna Kapunan, counselor, and lawyer Rodolfo Reyes, assistant secretary/corporate secretary. Monica SR Villonco was elected assistant treasurer.
