A 14-year-old boy sleeping outside his house in Gujarat, India, was eaten by a lion, Malaysia Nanban reported.

It happened in a mango plantation where the victim and his family lived and worked.

The family was given a house to live in but they usually slept outside because it was too warm inside.

They did this despite warnings from the plantation manager that the nearby forest was on a migration route for lions.

On Saturday, the family could not find the boy and contacted the authorities.

Policemen and wildlife department personnel mounted a search and found parts of his body at several places in the forest.
