A family in Sherwood, Oregon, United States, is using social media to appeal for justice following the beating of their one-year-old baby.
In a post on social media site Facebook on Friday, Joshua Marbury posted photos of his son Jacob bearing cuts and bruises on the child’s sensitive face. According to the post, the atrocious crime occurred in March when their babysitter spanked the innocent toddler.
Although the babysitter admitted the wrongdoing, no charges have been slapped against the babysitter due to Oregon’s sloppy child abuse laws. More than two months after the incident, no arrests had been carried out.
In a report by Fox News, the couple mentioned that the prosecutor on the case told them ”there isn’t currently enough evidence to bring charges against the suspect”. Oregon lawyers find prosecuting culprits of child abuse cases arduous and difficult.
“Nobody can just hit a child and more to just get away with it because the child can’t verbally tell you,” Marbury wrote in his viral post that reaped 315,610 shares.
