The Philippine National Police is now open to hire thousands of new police officers, after the National Police Commission (Napolcom) approved 21,200 recruitment slots for Police Officer 1.

Through a resolution, the Napolcom approved, for 2016, the recruitment of 10,000 civilians for the regular recruitment quota, and 11,200 new police officers for the attrition recruitment quota.

In a statement, Napolcom Vice Chair and Executive Officer  Rogelio T. Casurao explained the regular recruitment quota is usually calculated to strengthen public safety forces in identified police regional offices, and is therefore based on the peace and order situation in these areas.

Meanwhile, Casurao said the attrition recruitment quota is intended to replenish personnel loss due to retirement, death or separation from the police service.

Applications can now be filed at police regional offices nationwide, Casurao said.
