Fitness First stops Bostolits’ run in Ayala hoop

FITNESS FIRST stopped the three-game winning streak of league-leader Grace Bostolits via a, 74-64 crushing, Monday night in the ongoing elimination round of the Ayala Inter-Merchant Basketball Association (AIBA)-2011 basketball tournament at the Benjamin Solon Memorial Sports Complex in barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City.

Grace Bostolits took a slim three-point lead, 17-14 in the opening period with skipper Toly Petiluna accounting for 12 of those points and padded its advantage to, 36-27 at the half behind a, 19-13.

However, Fitness First roared back in the 3rd period with a blistering 26-16 rally behind power-forward Eman Flores and ace-guard Ivan Dela Torre to turn the tide in its favor, 53-52.

In the fourth, Fitness First outscored Grace Bostolits, 21-12 to post its second win in three games.

Eman Flores led Fitness First with 18 points while Ivan Dela Torre and Jovan Entera combined for 23 points. Toly Petiluna paced Grace Bostolits with 15 markers while Jeck Meting added 11.
