Chinese cop breaks record for longest ‘plank’

Chinese Police Officer Breaks Planking World Record

A Chinese police officer is still the Guinness world record holder of the ‘longest plank.’

As shown in a recent video by CCTV, Beijing-based SWAT officer Mao Weidong remained in a plank position for 8 hours, 1 minute, and 1 second, according to BBC. He ended his eight-hour stunt with a few push-ups. His challenger, George Hood, a retired United States Marine, managed to plank for 7 hours, 4 minutes, and 5 seconds.

Mao, referred to in China as a “Man of Steel”, adeptly carried the plank position and showed no signs of abdominal pain or fatigue.

In 2013, Hood managed to plank for 3 hours, 7 minutes, and 15 seconds but Mao instantly broke Hood’s record in 2014 with a staggering 4 hours and 26 seconds plank routine.
