Man found dead after suspected ‘rough sex’

KUALA LUMPUR —  Gagged and with feet bound, the naked body of a man was found in an apartment in Sri Hartamas here, a victim of what is believed to be rough sex gone wrong.

Brickfields OCPD Asst. Comm. Sharul Othman Mansor said police received a call from a security guard at the apartment building on Monday.

“We were alerted at around 12:17 a.m. after the landlord, accompanied by three friends and a security guard, found the body,” he said.

He said the father of the tenant had called the landlord when he could not contact his son on Sunday.

The landlord then went to the apartment to check on the 47-year-old man but there was no answer.

Someone was hired to open the door, and when they entered, they saw the man motionless on the floor, said ACP Sharul.

“The feet were bound with cloth, he was gagged and his privates were covered with another piece of cloth,” he said.

A forensic pathologist from the University Malaya Medical Centre later examined the scene.

From early observations of the body at the scene, ACP Sharul said police believed the man might have died from complications during rough sex. He declined to give details.

There is no closed-circuit TV system in the apartment but investigators “have footage from the lobby and lifts”, he said.

Police classified the case as murder and the body was sent to the medical centre for a post-mortem.
