College executive falls to death in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The assistant vice president of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZCSMST) died in a fall from the third floor of one of the school’s buildings early Monday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, information officer of the Zamboanga City Police Office, said the body of Dr. Constancio Teofilo, 52, also dean of the ZCSMST’s College of Marine and Food Science, was discovered by roving guards around 6:30 a.m.

Galvez said Teofilo was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center but physicians there declared him “dead on arrival.”

“Investigation is ongoing to determine if there was foul play or if not, (or) the motive for suicide [if it was],” she said.  SFM/rga
