Organic fair, confab set for Oct. 21

THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Cebu Coalition for Food Security and AFOS Foundation, will hold its first-ever Cebu Going Organic (Cebu GO) fair and conference from Oct. 21 to Oct. 23 at the Cebu International Convention Center in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City.

The activity seeks to promote a sustainable farming system that could be beneficial to Cebu and its neighboring provinces.

Representatives from the government sector, the academe, private organization and farmers are expected to join the event.

With the aid of experts in organic agriculture coupled with insights from local farmers,   this event will instill awareness on the advantages of organic farming to human health and farming industry.

It will also give emphasis on the further promotion and implementation of The Organic Agriculture Act of 2010, also known as R.A. 10068.
