International Justice Mission Cebu holds prayer gathering
THE International Justice Mission (IJM) Cebu held its annual prayer gathering last Oct. 14 at the Cebu Normal University with the theme, “I am.”
Religious groups, social workers, student advocates and the government sector participated the activity.
The IF band, together with the St. Theresa’s College Buhilaman Performing Arts, brought the crowd together in worship with their songs and presentation numbers.
There was also sharing of testimonies from the rescued victims of oppression in Cebu to inspire and motivate all the justice advocates present.
“This event is empowering not only IJM but also its purpose,” IJM Ambassadress Mia Ali Faridoon said.
IJM student advocate Jennica de Vera from the University of the Philippines Cebu said justice is possible when people keep their faith alive.
Article continues after this advertisementThere were prayer stations where people gathered and offered prayers for all those victims of oppression who are yet to be rescued.
A prayer wall was also set up for the advocates to write their prayers as well. IJM, with partners in this advocacy, vowed to continue the fight for liberation and justice in the society through faith, prayer and unified action. /UP Masscom student Easterlyn Kwan Benigay
