CAMP GENERAL ALEJO S. SANTOS—The Bulacan police arrested on Tuesday a 49-year-old man for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl inside her house in Barangay (village) Sta. Clara, Sta Maria, Bulacan, on election day, Monday, according to a belated police report.
Sony Lorenzo was charged with child rape before the Office of the Bulacan Provincial Prosecutor, said Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat, Jr., Bulacan police director.
Police said the suspect, a neighbor, entered the house and abused the girl, who was home alone.
The girl fled to a friend’s home after the suspect threatened to kill her mother if the victim told her what happened.
Upon learning of the incident, the victim’s mother immediately sought the assistance of Santa Maria police, who arrested the suspect. RAM
