With 76.10 percent or 42,416,595 votes counted, Liberal Party vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo has widened her lead over her closest rival Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., according to the latest partial and unofficial tally of votes.
As of 4:29 p.m. Tuesday, Robredo has 13,605,015 votes, or 210,929 votes higher than Marcos’ 13,394,086.
Marcos, who has been leading in the unofficial count until Tuesday dawn, asked the Commission on Elections and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting to stop the unofficial tallying of votes supposedly to avoid confusion with the official tally.
In the presidential race, front-runner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte maintained his lead with 15,520,595 votes, followed by administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas, who already conceded defeat, with 9,386,781.
Senate President Franklin Drilon continues to lead the senatorial race with 17,588,457 votes, followed closely by former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority head Joel Villanueva with 17,554,887 votes. RC/rga
