CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two incumbent congressional district representatives in Cebu have received fresh mandates.
Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia was reelected in the third district with 140,097 votes.
Garcia of One Cebu Party defeated Board Member Grecilda Sanchez-Zaballero of the Liberal Party, who received 83,023 votes. Another candidate, Teddy Osorio, got 2,206 votes.
In Cebu’s first district, Rep. Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas pulled in 186,091 votes, almost double the votes received by the other candidate, Abe Canoy, who received 83,023 votes.
Garcia and Gullas are expected to be proclaimed at the provincial canvassing center at the Capitol compound within the day./rga
